Russian IISL Members Hold New Year Essay Competition

In December 2020, a New Year essay competition for students from universities of Russia and other CIS countries was held to foster interest in space law during the pandemic. The competition replaced a traditional all-Russian meeting for IISL members and friends, which could not be convened last year due to the Covid-19-related restrictions. The organization of the competition was provided by IISL Board member Elina Morozova and IISL individual member Yaroslav Vasyanin with the support of IISL institutional member RUDN University (Russia). IISL Welcomes New Secretariat

After the IISL General Assembly P.J. Blount took over as the newly elected Executive Secretary and Emeline Inocente began her tenure as the Assistant Executive Secretary. P.J. Blount is currently a Research Fellow in Cybersecurity Regulation and Governance at SES and the University of Luxembourg, a position funded by an Industrial Fellowship grant from the Luxembourg National Research Fund.  He also serves as an adjunct Professor in the Ll.M. in Air and Space Law at the University of Mississippi Read more…

60th Anniversary Book Published

The IISL is pleased to announce the publication of a book celebrating its 60th anniversary of the Institute. The International Institute of Space Law: Six Decades of Space Law and its Development(s) (1960 – 2020) was edited by Prof. Stephan Hobe and includes a wealth of information on the history of the IISL and its contribution to the development of space law globally.  The IISL would like to thank the Secure World Foundation for generously supporting the printing of physical copies of the volume!
