MEMBERSHIP AND FEES

  1. Election of new Members by the Board of Directors takes place twice a year.

  2. An application must include: (i) nominations in support of the applicant, duly endorsed on the form or sent via e-mail to Membership Committee; and (ii) latest CV of applicant, along with a brief note, indicating space related activities, interests and publications (if any) of the institution.

  3. Completed nomination forms must be received by the IISL Membership Committee at [email protected] before 1 FEBRUARY or before 1 AUGUST.

The membership application, duly completed, must be submitted in PDF and in MS Word.

    All Members of the Institute, except prospective members, pay annual Membership dues, the amount of which is established by the General Assembly on a proposal by the Board of Directors.

    Dues are paid per fiscal year (from 1 August until 31 July). Members are in good standing when they are less than or equal to two years in arrears of Membership dues.

    INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERS

    Corporate entities and other institutions actively engaged or otherwise interested in the field of space law or other social or scientific aspects related to space activities, may be nominated for Institutional Membership of the Institute by a Director or by three individual Members in good standing of the Institute.

    INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS

    Individuals distinguished by their contributions to or of proven interest in the field of space law or other social science aspects related to space activities may be nominated for Individual Membership to the Institute by a Director or by three Individual Members in good standing of the Institute.

    PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS

    Young professionals and other individuals who have demonstrated an interest in space law but do not yet meet the requirements for full membership may be nominated for Prospective Membership to the IISL by a Director or by three Individual Members in good standing.
