About the International Institute of Space Law

The International Institute of Space Law (IISL) is the global association for space law with individual and institutional members from almost 50 countries.
The IISL’s key mission is the promotion of further development of space law and expansion of the rule of law in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.
"The IISL is an association of all and for all, who intend to promote space law research, teaching, practising and diplomacy, which provides perspective, inclusion and adheres to the principle that the rule of law is at the basis for benefit, welfare, fairness, as well as efficiency.

Let’s build the IISL together

Your donation will help us with the following; you are welcome to tell us how you would like your donation to be used, or leave it to the Board of Directors to allocate the funds:

The IISL Young Scholars Fund was created in 2011 to support the achievements of various students participating in each of the 4 Regional Rounds of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition (Asia-Pacific, North America, Europe and Africa). The Fund grants monetary awards to the Winning Team, the Team with the Best Memorials and the Best Oralist of each Regional Round.

The IISL General Fund aims to increase the financial resources of the IISL, so that it can create more and better events and publications, improve the efficiency of its day-to-day management (now solely dependent on volunteers), and to reimburse some of the expenses. The funds will also be used for the Annual Awards dinner, and acknowledgements on the website and printed materials can be arranged.

Since 2010, the IISL is recognised by the Dutch tax authorities as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO). Natural and legal persons making donations to a PBO may deduct their gifts from their Dutch income or corporate income tax.
